Thank you for your interest in becoming a Limestone County Master Gardener.
A thirteen week training course is required to become a Master Gardener. For general information regarding the upcoming class click here. The course is normally offered through the Tri-County (Limestone, Madison, Morgan) Extension Program, but due to Covid-19 restrictions the course will be statewide and held online until further notice.
Students may choose to participate in the spring or fall training. The cost of the course is $150 and includes an 18 chapter volunteer training handbook. The next course begins August 26, 2020. The class meets in real time from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm. Class recordings can be watched in the evenings.

The application and fee should be mailed to Rhonda Britton, Madison County Extension Office, 819 Cook Avenue, Huntsville, AL 35801. A background check is required. Once approved, registration is official and the registrant will be notified.
After completing the course, each student is required to complete a 50-hour volunteer internship. Upon completion of the volunteer hours, individuals are recognized as a certified Alabama Master Gardeners during a graduation ceremony.
